Sous Chef – Full Time
Willibald Pizza | Galt, Cambridge, ON

Compensation: $21–22/hour + shared tip-out program

Willibald Pizza is a busy, high-volume pizza shop located in Galt, Cambridge. Our program is built around naturally fermented dough, premium ingredients, and a hybrid pizza style cooked in deck ovens. We are committed to doing things properly—from multi-day dough fermentation and house-made components to a focused menu driven by quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team full-time. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, enjoys leading by example, and takes pride in maintaining high standards while helping develop a strong team culture.

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Chef and leadership team to support daily operations, maintain consistency, assist with training, and help drive the continued growth of our pizza program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Assist with ordering, inventory management, and food costing
  • Support staff training, development, and onboarding
  • Help manage prep schedules and service execution
  • Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are upheld
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen culture
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and operational improvements

Requirements & Skills:

  • Previous leadership experience in a professional kitchen
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead by example in a high-volume environment
  • Passion for scratch cooking, fermentation, and ingredient-driven food
  • Commitment to hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • Demonstrated dedication to a career in the culinary industry
  • Pizza experience is an asset, but a willingness to learn is essential

This job will be located at our second location in Cambridge (Galt). Willibald Farm is a growing farm distillery, brewery and restaurant located in Waterloo Region, just outside of the small village of Ayr. Willibald has a strong focus on high quality, premium beer and spirits that are made 100% on our farm. Our on-site restaurant focuses on emphasizing what’s fresh and grown locally and influenced heavily by our pizza oven, and on-site beef cattle.

We are seeking an active and enthusiastic candidate to join our growing team in a fast paced environment.

Duties & Requirements

  • Accept orders both in person and over the phone
  • Bus tables, run food and beverage
  • Effectively communicate with front and back of house co-workers to ensure ease of processes
  • Following proper steps of service as outlined by management
  • Greet and seat customers upon arrival
  • Maintain restaurant standards of cleanliness and organization

Qualifications:

  • Smart Serve Certification

Compensation:

  • $18-20 an hour based on experience, plus tips.

cocktails made on-site.
